S5 Grassroot

S5 Grassroot - Basketball Buddies Program is our foundational basketball program and or flagship initiative designed especially for young kids aged 6 to 12 years. It’s where passion for the game begins - in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment. Through playful drills, structured training, and positive mentorship, kids learn basketball basics, build coordination, and develop confidence on and off the court.

At Starting Five Sports Management, we're committed to making basketball accessible and exciting for students across Kerala. Through our various programs, we aim to build a strong grassroots foundation for the sport by directly supporting schools and communities.

After-School Basketball Coaching (June – February)

We collaborate directly with schools to bring free after-school basketball training to students — making the sport fun, accessible, and structured.

  • Completely free for schools and students
  • All equipment provided by us
  • Runs from June to February
  • Two sessions per week, 1 hour each

Weekend Coaching at Neighborhood Schools

We organize weekend basketball coaching sessions open to students from any school.

  • Conducted at nearby school venues
  • Available at a nominal fee
  • Ideal for students looking to enhance their game outside regular school hours

Equipment & Teacher Support Program

This initiative focuses on empowering schools with resources and training:

  • We supply complete basketball equipment
  • PE teachers receive professional basketball training
  • Perfect for schools aiming to establish or strengthen their basketball programs.

Summer Camp Collaborations (May & June)

We actively collaborate with summer camps across Kerala to integrate basketball into their curriculum:

  • Free basketballs, trainer T-shirts, Dartle support, and structured curriculum
  • Open to summer camp organizers looking to offer quality sports programming
